Urban Development and Pandemic

Towns and cities have historically faced tremendous challenges as consequences of various pandemics. Foci of economic, scientific and social activities with a delicate fabric of various interlinked functions and deeds immensely susceptible to disruption, they also form hotbeds of the rapid spread of diseases and infections. Originating from dense urban areas, such epidemics have had wide extensive and prolonged impact on the societies and countries, often fundamentally changing the trajectories and power constellations within, and among, nations..

Present COVID epidemic is the uppermost challenge of such sort in the last hundred years that urban areas, as well as countries, have to face. Whilst still in the middle of the pandemic, we have identified key points and lessons in terms of urban development that will give assistance to the economic and social recovery on the one hand and means and measures to prevent further large-scale disruptions.

Project Title

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.
