Selected problems of suburbanisation in Poland after 1989. Case study of Wrocław city and its suburban zone

The political and socio-economic transition in Poland after 1989 triggered suburbanisation processes in the surroundings of large cities. One example of dynamically developing areas under the influence of suburbanisation is the suburban zone of Wrocław city. The aim of this lecture was to identify selected manifestations of suburbanisation in Poland on the example of Wrocław and its suburban zone. It focuses in particular on the issues of: population change, construction traffic and its spatial effects, as well as commercial suburbanisation.
